I am the mom of a bipolar son. The daughter of a bipolar father. The daughter-in-law of a bipolar mother-in-law.
God is obviously trying to teach me something.
"My Bipolar Family"
Honest and imperfect people are my people. We interrupt. We get loud. We laugh. We curse. We elbow each other and talk over each other. This is also the way that I like to write. If you've never conversed with someone drowning in ADHD,
prepare yourself.
My stories never follow a straight line, but they are always entertaining.
So, sit back, relax, and try to keep up.
"Child with Autism, Bipolar Information"
The ultimate goal of this website is the creation of a nonprofit focused on funding early psychiatric care to those most at risk. My oldest son was not officially diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and Autism until the age of 16. By that time, he had already developed multiple negative coping habits. The difference between his painful failures and the successes of his younger brother comes down to finances. We didn't have the resources to regularly pay $1,500.00 for neuropsychological testing. We didn't have the $800.00 a month to pay for a psychiatrist when Andrew needed one the most. I want to use our lessons to ensure that other families have the necessary funding to help their children before it's too late.
